"I have had the pleasure –if dental work can ever be called “pleasure” –of dealing with Professor Ama Johal and Dr Shakeel Shahdad as well as the dental nurses, the hygienist, and the wonderful practice manager Zoe at Specialist Dental Services. ​

My treatment over the past two years has been extensive but ultimately very successful and has given me a new lease on life. I am no longer embarrassed to smile broadly and I like to think that this has led to a considerable improvement in my interaction with friends and family and new acquaintances. It is amazing the effect that giving them a broad smile has on other people, and I have never been able to do that before. ​

I am of a generation for whom orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry was quite uncommon and so I grew up with uneven top and bottom teeth which got worse and worse with age. I went to another dentist who recommended veneers to improve the top front teeth, but despite countless returns to visit him the veneers continued to pop off. ​​

In desperation I turned to Dr Johal who immediately noted that the problem was that the lower teeth were so uneven they pressed on the new veneers and pried them off. A year of orthodontic treatment on the bottom teeth followed but in the meantime Dr Shahdad put in place temporary veneers which miraculously stayed put for the whole year. ​​

The final touch was the removal of the braces and the fixing of the permanent veneers exactly a year ago! No problems now with the veneers or the orthodontics. What a difference it has made to my life! Thank you."
