The procedure can take between 2-4 hours depending on the number of implants and whether you’re having a single arch or top and bottom arches treated in the same day. Sometimes, if the implants are not stable enough, then placing the teeth in the same appointment would not be advisable.

Normally, patients looking to replace all of their teeth are advised to have between 6 and 8 dental implants. However, with the All-on-4 implant protocol, only 4 implants are required to secure a complete set of fixed teeth.
The All-on-4 implant protocol supports an entire set of prosthetic teeth as the implants are placed at a precise angle. Two implants are placed at the front and two at the back of the mouth. As with any surgery, most of the discomfort or swelling would resolve within 4-5 days. Until your implants have fully fused to the jaw bone, we will advise that you eat mainly soft foods in the first 2-3 months.

All-on-6 implants is similar to All-on-4, however, in this scenario, 6 implants are placed for full mouth restoration to support up to 12-14 unit bridge. Due to the increase unmber of implants, it is biomechanically stronger than All-on-4 arrangement. Similar to All-on-4, this option provides an excellent solution with immediate teeth provided on the same day of surgery.

If you have All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants, you’ll need to follow a careful regime to keep your implant teeth clean. You’ll need to take special care to clean your gums and the bridge, as food can get stuck around the areas where the bridge is attached. It’s however not very different from what you should do to take care of natural teeth.

Brush your dental implants twice a day
Like with natural teeth, you should brush twice a day. For best outcome, use an electric toothbrush for 2-3 minutes and make sure you brush right up to the gum line.
Using special implant bridge floss and interdental brushes are essential to clean the under surface of the bridge and maintain healthy gums around the implants.
