Edmund is a Senior Lecturer & Consultant Oral Surgeon at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He graduated with honours from the University of Liverpool and worked in several training and academic posts in the North West, completing his specialist training in Oral Surgery in Manchester in 2014.
He has a broad experience of clinical teaching and research in Oral Surgery. His current job involves teaching and supervision of trainee dentists at various levels alongside his clinical work as a Consultant Oral Surgeon.
Edmund has published in several renowned academic journals and is an author for the Cochrane Oral Health Group; this group produce systematic reviews that are used to inform evidence based practice. He was an author on two recent Cochrane Systematic Reviews on wisdom tooth surgery and pain control following on from wisdom tooth surgery. He has an interest in patient safety and has led on several projects to improve patient safety in dentistry at both local and national levels. He sits on the Council of the British Association of Oral Surgeons.
Edmund provides surgical treatments under local anaesthetic and sedation; sedation can be very useful for patients who are anxious about dental treatment.
